i wrote this record when i was 18. i was living alone, renting this house out in woodland hills at the time. a lot of crazy transitional shit was going on in my life and i was just writing & writing all the time… RADIO sent me this amazing track one night & i remember lighting a candle in one of the spare bedrooms & staying up until like.. 7 in the morning writing this joint & just feeling the craziest relief after.
when my ext. hard drive crashed a couple of weeks ago i lost a TON of song ideas, from around that time especially. i was digging around today & found the acapella of this old record had somehow made its way onto my computer. it’s not necessarily a lot of people’s favourite of mine, or a single or anything like that… hell, it’s not even written about me personally.. but i feel like it’s one of the more honest records i’ve ever done.
